Josh is a Lawrenceville native who enjoys physical fitness in his free time. He is a certified Level 1 CrossFit trainer. He coaches classes at CrossFit Iron Up and here at New Leaf. He has a deep passion for physical fitness and helping people achieve their fitness goals.
Lisa Kavanaugh & Lori Kavanaugh
Lisa and Lori are Lawrenceville natives and have enjoyed a lifelong love for fitness and exercise. They are Certified Group Fitness Instructors with several certifications, including; Insanity, PiYo, Spinning, and R.I.P.P.E.D. just to name a few. In addition to teaching at other fitness facilities, Lisa and Lori attend numerous fitness conferences and educational programs to keep their credentials current and refresh their skills.
They are anxious to share their knowledge of agility, strength, endurance and power to their class participants at New Leaf. Their goal is to make every participant, regardless of fitness level, age, body-type or experience to feel comfortable during class and most of all to have fun!
Helen Keller once said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing,” and Bonnie Bowman takes this advice to heart. Bonnie believes in creating spaces to push against the boundaries of comfort zones. She believes in passion, exploration, acceptance, hard work and a little bit of magic.
Bonnie is a California native with a love of the Ocean. She has been many things from a Fashion Photographer to a Scuba Dive Instructor. She’s traveled the world and now finds her home here, in Lawrenceville, with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, two cats, and 20 chickens.
Yoga has become one of Bonnie’s greatest passions. Bonnie agrees with Rachel Brathen when she says that in yoga, a certain pose is not the goal. Becoming flexible isn’t the goal, either. To Bonnie (and Rachel), the goal of yoga is to make peace with who you are. The goal is to appreciate your body and to become aware of your mind and the noise that it creates.
It was a love of sports that fueled Michael Moshenrose’s passion for health and fitness. An avid tennis player in high school, Michael began working out and lifting weights to improve his tennis game. Since that time, he has not only earned a degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University, but also become an ASCM certified personal trainer, an ISSA certified fitness trainer, Resistance Training Specialist, Certified Muscle Activation Techniques practitioner, Precision Nutrition Level 1 coach, certified spinning instructor and a Holden Qigong Teacher.
Michael’s desire for fitness and passion for service, work hand in hand as he designs your plan to help you improve your physical, nutritional, and mental health via customized goals and physical tolerance levels. It is Michael’s aspiration to instill in every person a passion for health and he does this by being, in his own words, a guide who is there not to push you, but an advocate who is there to make sure you are acknowledged and supported as you work toward your health and fitness goals.
Rendi is originally from Robinson, IL, but has lived in Northwest Indiana for the last six years. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Exercise Science and has spent the last eight years teaching classes, doing personal training, and managing gyms. She has worked in all facets of the industry, but loves helping people form and stick to healthy habits with exercise and nutrition.
After having two girls of her own, Rendi has found a passion helping moms to heal their bodies after childbirth and feel their best to be the best moms! Rendi has an online Facebook page called Fit Mama where she does online training and motivation support groups. She shares healthy recipes and tips to make the busy mom life a little easier. She also wants to install healthy habits and healthy body image in her little girls.
